EVERY MINUTE MATTERS
Living to Love While There Is Still Time
There is a quiet truth most of us don’t like to linger with for very long. Every minute that passes is one less minute we will ever have again. One less minute to love God. One less minute to love people. One less minute to become like Jesus. Time moves forward without asking our permission. It does not slow when we are distracted. It does not pause while we figure things out. And yet, God has chosen to entrust this brief life to us—not so we can fill it with noise, but so we can fill it with love. Love for Him. And love for others. Jesus lived with this awareness. He never hurried, yet He never wasted a moment. Every step He took was intentional. Every interruption became a divine appointment. Children felt safe in His presence. The broken drew near without fear. Sinners did not feel pushed away—they felt invited. There was something about Him. A gentleness. A tenderness. A holy availability. The world could rest in His presence. And that is still God’s desire for us. That our lives would become a safe place— a soft pillow for weary heads to land. A refuge for hearts bruised by life. A living invitation to come and see what love looks like. Every minute matters because people matter. The person in front of you is not an interruption. They are the assignment. The hurting soul crossing your path is not an inconvenience. They are a sacred trust.
Jesus said it plainly: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind… and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” —Matthew 22:37–39 (NKJV) Not out of tradition. Not out of duty. But out of a heart so full of God that it overflows. This is the deeper life. Not religious activity. Not spiritual performance. But a heart that literally aches with love for God. A heart that says, “Lord, I want to love You while I still can.” And from that love— flows a tenderness toward others. Paul called it a fragrance. “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ…” —2 Corinthians 2:15 (NKJV) The true measure of a life is not how loud it speaks, but how deeply it loves. When Jesus lives at the center, something changes in us. Our words soften. Our patience deepens. Our eyes begin to see people the way He does. The fragrance of our life becomes Jesus Himself—the Rose of Sharon, gentle and beautiful. The world is not just hungry for answers. It is hungry to see Jesus. To see His kindness in our eyes. His compassion in our tone. His mercy in our responses. Dear one, this life is not a rehearsal. These minutes are not renewable. But they are redeemable. Every moment surrendered to love becomes eternal in value. Every act of kindness echoes longer than we realize. Every gentle response reveals the Kingdom. We are called to be living examples—walking letters of what God can do in any life. Not perfect lives. But surrendered ones. If your heart feels stirred as you read this, if something aches quietly inside you… Come. Lay your life before Him again. Whisper it honestly: “Lord, teach me to love while there is still time.” “Let my life look like You.” “Make me a safe place for others.” Ask Him to slow you down. To soften you again. To fill your remaining minutes with love. The fire of God does not make us harsh. It makes us tender. And a tender heart, filled with Christ, is one of the most powerful witnesses this world will ever see.
