THE HIGH CALLING
A Holy Call to Walk the Lonely Road of Divine Favor
“I press toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 3:14 (NKJV) Good morning, beloved, There is a way of walking with God that few ever truly enter. It is quiet. Hidden. Costly. It isn’t marked by applause or visibility, but by surrender when no one is watching. It’s not about how high a person rises in public, but how deeply they yield in private. And if God has whispered this call into your spirit… if you’ve ever wept in secret and said, “Lord, I want to be like You no matter the cost,” then you must know—He took you at your word. Dear one, this road will look different from others. You’ll find that the Lord requires things of you He doesn’t ask of anyone else. What feels permissible for others will feel off-limits for you. What brings applause to another may bring rebuke to you—not because He loves you less, but because He loves you jealously. You have been set apart. “The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” —Habakkuk 3:19 (NLT) You may see others push their way forward—making plans, promoting themselves, gathering attention—and they seem blessed in it. But when you try to do the same, Heaven shuts the door. Why? Because God is shaping something in you that cannot be shaped in the noise. He has tucked you away to form Christ in you—not a platform, but a fragrance. A heavenly aroma. One that only forms in secret, in silence, in surrender. You may labor long and receive no recognition. Others may harvest what you planted. But oh dear one, your reward will be tenfold when the Lord returns. What you’ve done in the hidden place—what no eye saw, no hand clapped for, no book recorded—He saw it all. Every seed, every tear, every quiet “yes.” “Your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” —Matthew 6:6 (NKJV) You may be chastened for what others get away with. A stray word, a proud glance, a wasted hour—He deals with you swiftly. Not in anger, but in jealous love. The Holy Spirit will not let you wander too far, for you are His own. He’s not raising you to be ordinary. He’s forming in you the image of His Son. And yes, it may ache. At times, it will feel unfair. But when you look into the eyes of Jesus and know He has found in you a place of rest—a vessel emptied, a heart yielded—it will be worth it all. He may never fully explain the peculiarities of your calling, but He will never stop holding your hand through them. “For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.” —Hebrews 12:6 (NKJV) You were never meant to fit in. You were meant to be His. And the more you embrace that truth, the more peace will flood your soul. There’s a joy reserved for those who don’t need to be seen, don’t need to be understood, don’t even need to be applauded—because Jesus knows, and that’s enough. He is clapping for you right now! So, make peace with the obscurity. Welcome the restrictions. Delight in the correction that come not from condemnation, but from divine intimacy. For the very things that make you feel set apart are the evidence that you are His. And when you can say in your heart, “Lord, I thank You for the protections You have placed upon me—for they are love’s embrace,” then, dear friend, you have stepped into the inner chambers of the King. You are not behind. You are not overlooked. You are hidden—because you are holy unto Him. Keep walking the higher path. His eyes are on you.
