The Invasion
How Small Compromises Lead to Major Destruction
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
Good Morning, my friend. I want to share something the Lord has been showing me about the subtle way the enemy gains territory in our lives. In Texas, there's a fascinating yet troubling story about wild hogs that serves as a powerful spiritual parallel.
You see, dear friend, it all began innocently enough in the 1500s when Spanish explorers brought a few domesticated pigs to Texas for food. Just a few pigs, nothing more. They seemed harmless – helpful even. But some escaped. Later, European settlers brought more, and again, some got loose. By the 1900s, game ranchers intentionally released wild boars for sport hunting.
Today, Texas faces a crisis of 2.6 million destructive wild hogs, causing over $500 million in damage annually. What started as a few "harmless" compromises became an overwhelming invasion nearly impossible to control.
The Lord shows us how the enemy works in our lives. Just as those initial pigs seemed harmless, so too do those first small compromises with sin. "It's just a little gossip," we say. "It's only a small compromise," we reason. "Everyone else is doing it," we justify.
But beloved, like those wild hogs that reproduce rapidly in Texas's favorable climate, sin multiplies when given favorable conditions in our hearts. What starts as a small compromise today becomes a stronghold tomorrow. Those "little" allowances we make for the flesh create an environment where destruction can thrive.
Think of how these wild hogs destroy crops and land – opportunistic feeders, consuming whatever they find. Isn't this just like the enemy of our souls? He's opportunistic, looking for any opening, any compromise, any justification we make to begin his work of destruction.
Come, dear friend, let the Lord search your heart today. Are there any "small" compromises you've been justifying? Are there any areas where you've allowed the enemy to gain a foothold? Just as Texas now struggles to control its wild hog population, it becomes increasingly difficult to regain spiritual territory once we've allowed the enemy access.
The good news is that our God is a Restorer! He can reclaim what the enemy has stolen and rebuild what sin has destroyed. But oh, how much better it is to guard our hearts from the beginning, to recognize those subtle compromises before they multiply into major strongholds!
Will you join me today in asking the Holy Spirit to show us any areas where we've allowed "small" sins to roam freely? Will you let Him strengthen the fences of your spiritual boundaries? For indeed, beloved, it's easier to maintain firm boundaries than to reclaim territory once it's been invaded.
The sweet Master stands ready to help us fortify our hearts against the enemy's invasion attempt. Let us run to Him, allowing His truth to expose every compromise, His love to heal every wound, and His power to drive out every destructive force that threatens our spiritual land.
In the end, dear one, our hearts are meant to be gardens of His presence, not wastelands of compromise. Let us guard them with all diligence, for the springs of life flow from them.
With Love,
Steve Porter

Thank you so much Pastor Porter for this anointed message which confirms what the Holy Spirit revealed to me in a pig dream. Be blessed.
