What Trials Cannot Touch
Finding Victory in Life's Valleys
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all." (Psalm 34:19)
Beloved, as I sit here this morning, the Lord is downloading something precious into my spirit about trials and their limitations. Oh, how the enemy would have us believe that our hardships are all-powerful, but let me share what the Master has been showing me about what trials cannot do.
Listen closely, precious ones, as the Holy Spirit unveils this beautiful truth: trials are incredibly limited in their power over a child of God. They may shake our world, but they cannot touch our core. They may test our resolve, but they cannot steal our joy.
Think of it – trials cannot cripple love. When storms rage around us, love grows deeper, stronger, more resilient. I've seen precious saints going through the darkest valleys whose capacity to love has only increased through their pain. The enemy meant to harden their hearts, but instead, their love grew more tender.
Trials cannot shatter hope. Oh, they may cloud it temporarily, they may test it fiercely, but true hope anchored in Christ remains unbreakable. Like a sturdy lighthouse in a raging storm, hope stands unmoved, shining brighter against the darkness.
And what about faith? Trials may challenge it, but they cannot corrode it. In fact, I sense the Lord saying that for many of you, your trials have become your servant, strengthening your faith rather than destroying it. What the enemy meant for evil, God is using for your spiritual fortification.
Beloved, have you noticed how trouble has a way of stalking down our road, meeting us when we least expect it? But here's the glorious truth – it cannot destroy our peace. The peace that passes understanding continues to guard our hearts even in life's fiercest storms.
It cannot kill friendships forged in Christ's love. Rather, trials often reveal who our true friends are, deepening bonds that will last into eternity. It cannot suppress the precious memories of God's faithfulness in our lives. Each trial becomes another stone of remembrance, testifying to His unwavering love.
Oh, precious ones, hear this – trials cannot silence courage. They may test it, but true courage rises strongest when the battle is fiercest. Your courage, birthed in Christ, grows bolder with each storm weathered.
They cannot invade the soul where Christ dwells. They may buffet the outer courts, but your inner sanctuary remains untouched, secure in His presence. And most gloriously, they cannot steal your eternal life or conquer your spirit, for these are sealed by the blood of Jesus Himself.
I sense the Lord saying that some of you are in life's testing ground right now. You're being proved, refined, tested. But remember – this trouble is your servant, not your master. It's working for you, not against you. Every trial is making you stronger, more powerful, more like Christ.
So lift your head, beloved. Your trials are limited, but your God is limitless. Your troubles are temporary, but His faithfulness is eternal. Your challenges are confined, but His love knows no bounds.
Let every trial become your testimony.
Let every test become your triumph.
Let every hardship highlight His faithfulness.
For in the end, what are trials but temporary teachers in the school of God's grace? They cannot touch what truly matters – your love, your hope, your faith, your peace, your friendships, your memories, your courage, your soul, your eternal life, your spirit.
These precious treasures remain secure in Christ, untouchable by any storm that life may bring. Rest in this truth today, beloved. Your trials are limited, but your God is not.
With Love,
Steve Porter

Thank you Steven, in the book: Broken Bread by John Wright Follette, Gospel Pub. House 1957, the first chapter- Trouble- A Servant, “What are you seeking in your trouble today? Is it Deliverance or Development? You may have the one and not grow, or you may have both and grow. Get the development first and the deliverance will be yours as well. Let trouble minister to you as nothing else can.” Robert Frost said :” the best way out is THROUGH “.
In the stormy sea of trials He is our anchor to cling on.
